| We Americans have a flawed
concept of our right to vote. To listen to recent Supreme Court
rantings and ravings, you would believe that the only
requirement related to voting is to be 18 years old, a US
citizen, and breathing. We suggest an addition to
this juvenile blather from the Supreme Court. "The right to vote, does not imply that votes will count. The only votes that count will meet the voting rules, from registration to the actual ballots. The rules include voting on the correct date, at the correct time, in the correct place, and proper execution of the voting process. No vote shall count that cannot be determined by objective means, whether by machines, electronic means, or manually counted. " |
| This video and many more like
it, demonstrate that there are many un-informed voters, who have the
right to vote. The question we are raising is not only is the voting
process correctly followed, but is the voter themselves qualified
intellectually to cast a meaningful vote. When you see the improper voting scams perpetrated by both major parties, you have to wonder how many people are just voting like they would for a high school election. We are not advocating a rigid current events or history test, but a simple test that would indicate the potential voter knew something about who was running for offices, and some basic questions about where they are. As usual, John Stossel makes his point that the importance of a Presidential Election should require a semblance of intelligence by the potential voter. In most cases, the quality of a vote would have more meaning than the quantity. |
