Environmental activists,
lobbyists and their politicians fairly scream that we should not
drill in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) because it would
disturb the wildlife living there. They've been saying this for
years. And they continue to say it today in the face of the
current energy crisis that everyone painfully knows about. But, what
is the truth? Take a few minutes and review the below statements, maps, and photos and you'll be enlightened. For instance, did you know that the proposed drilling area in the ANWR is only 3 square miles, and is located on a barren coastal plain? Did you know that the total ANWR area is as large as the State of South Carolina? Some anti-ANWR activists are the same people that said the Alaskan pipeline/Prudhoe Bay would kill off all the caribou. Obviously, the caribou didn't get the message.

Winter on the coastal plains, a pretty desolate place. Nothing much of value here except oil.

It seems even the arctic bears aren't overly concerned about a nice warm pipeline.
